Why We Are Starting This Blog

It has now been decided that we will start a blog for our company.

Until now, we have relied mainly on social media, putting most of our effort into Instagram. A few weeks ago, however, I was asked to verify my identity using an SMS code. The code never arrived. I tried email verification instead, but that didn't work either.

I contacted support, which now seems to be entirely AI-driven, but without any success. I tried resetting my password, watched tutorials on YouTube, and searched through countless obscure blog posts online, all to no avail.

Eventually, I found a hidden form that allowed me to create a support ticket with Meta. After several rounds of back and forth, I was finally told that my account had been closed and that I simply needed to create a new one. No real explanation was given. The only suggestions were to enable all cookies and install the Instagram app on my primary phone. I can only assume that my preference for maintaining some privacy and not giving complete control of my personal device to a social media platform was not appreciated.

What makes the situation particularly frustrating is that I was a paying customer. We regularly ran advertisements and even had unused advertising credit remaining on the account. Despite that, there was no way to recover years of posts, followers, tags, or history. Everything was simply gone.

Instagram is undoubtedly a convenient platform with an enormous audience, and it has served us well as a way of sharing news about our company. But convenience often comes at a price. When your communication depends entirely on a service you do not control, you also accept that it can disappear overnight.

That experience made us reconsider how we want to communicate.

Rather than relying solely on third-party platforms, we have decided to own our content and publish our news here, on our own website. A blog may not be the most fashionable way to communicate in today's world, but it is ours. It allows us to build something that cannot be taken away by an algorithm, an automated support system, or an unexplained account closure.

Ironically, this decision reflects the philosophy behind our products as well.

We have no ambition to chase trends or create products designed to be replaced next season. Instead, we want to make timeless pieces for the right people—objects that age gracefully, are repaired rather than discarded, and perhaps one day become part of a family's heritage. We believe quality, craftsmanship, and longevity are more meaningful than following the latest fashion.

I never intended for the first post on this blog to begin on such a negative note. However, it felt important to explain why this blog exists in the first place.

From now on, this will be where we share our news, our work, and the ideas behind what we create.

Thank you for following along. Stay tuned—there is much more to come.
